FERNS Cooperative Chain

The Far East Radio Navigation Service (FERNS) is an agreement that establishes a joint radio-navigation service in the waters of the Far East based on the principles of mutual benefits to promote the research and development of radio navigation. The members are the People's Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation. It was established based on the agreement signed on Sept. 7, 1992 by the Maritime Safety Administration of the People's Republic of China, Japan Coast Guard, Korea Maritime and Port Administration, and Navigation Commission of Russia.
